Shelton’s English programme adopts a step-by-step approach to mastering the English Language. It is aimed at raising the level of academic performance among international students who may be unaccustomed to educational courses that are delivered in English.
The programme equips students with the four essential skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing. It comprises four levels, starting from Elementary and progressing through Intermediate and Upper–Intermediate to Advanced level. The structured programme enables students to cultivate their language skills, to significantly improve their writing skills with good grammar and to speak in the English language with good pronunciation. Shelton’s Certificate for Higher Education is a pre-degree or pre-diploma preparatory program designed primarily for students who wish to pursue higher education studies delivered in the English language. It is particularly appropriate for students who wish to study vocational subjects such as Business or Tourism. It provides students with the basic study and research skills necessary to derive maximum benefit from higher education. The course also introduces students to the concepts and method of study of at least one subject that they may pursue in their later studies. The range of practical skills developed will also enhance students’ value to potential employers. |

| Preparatory Course - Singapore-Cambridge GCE O-Level |
Shelton prepares students for the Singapore-Cambridge GCE O-Level Examination. This qualification is widely recognised and valued by employers, education authorities and institutions of higher education throughout the world.
The University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate (UCLES) is the examining authority for subjects in English. The Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board (SEAB) is an established statutory board that develops and conducts national examinations in Singapore and provides other examination and assessment services, locally as well as overseas. SEAB collaborates with the Ministry of Education (MOE) on all national examinations and ensures the high quality of national standards is uphold.
Preparations for the O-Level Examination include monthly classroom assessments leading to the final examination conducted by SEAB. |

| Preparatory Course - Singapore-Cambridge GCE A-Level |
The Singapore-Cambridge GCE A-Level curriculum emphasizes not only on learning but also focuses in ensuring fl edibility. Instruction in these subjects will be student-centred. Subjects offered are at the H1 and H2 levels, depending on the capability of students. H2 is equivalent to the previous Singapore- Cambridge GCE A-Level subjects in terms of academic demand and rigor. H1 subject has about half the content of H2, but the content would be studied to the same depth as it is at H2. This tiered structure provides the opportunity for students to achieve their personal peaks of excellence.
